First-time Olympian Nia Akins is more than just an 800m runner.

Here’s what she does off-duty when she’s not on the track.

The 800-meter runner placed first in the final round of competition to solidify her spot in the2024 Paris Olympics.

Im really blessed to be here, and I dont think its fully settled in yet, Akins says.

Im super proud to have made it here and to go to Paris.

Akins, a 25-year-old from California, says its been a whirlwind of emotions leading up to the games.

Above everything else, Im really excited to just race.
