Are avocados worth the pop in?

Heres what a nutritionist thinks:

I have to admit, Im a little surprised its just now happening.

After all, theres already avocadoice cream,milk, andportable avo toast.

(Weve also been using avocado oil on regular chips now for years.)

But it turns out that making puffed avocado snacks was tricky to execute.

But even figuring that out wasnt the end of the road.

Co-founder Alex Kost explains that making a puffed snack from avocado flour had never been done before.

There wasnt a tried-and-true blueprint they could use, so it took a lot of trial and error.

Fugman and Kost were kind enough to send me a few bags to taste-test.

(I have a tough gig, I know.)

TBH, I wouldnt know they were made of avocado just by trying them.

(If anything, the rice flour has a stronger taste.)

And, like, other puffed snacks, the texture is so darn satisfying to bite into.

They are dairy-free, gluten-free, and vegan, which makes them friendly to many different kinds of eaters.

(The vegan cheddar has 290 milligrams of sodium per serving.)

The puffs also have a small amount ofpotassium, with 46 milligrams per bag.

The bottom line: Theres no snack that can beat the avocado in its purest form.

And if youre an avocado super fan, theyre a no-brainer.
