But LGBTQ+ advocates say there arevery few trans athleteseven attempting to publicly compete in school sports.
Instead, bans on transgender peoples rights primarily affect the safety and well-being of trans people themselves.

It shouldnt just be on LGBTQ folks to be that voice every timewe need allies, says Hoffman.
