But these new digestion-friendly drinks are nothing like a fruit smoothie.

For each of the three brands highlighted here, the fiber isnt sourced from fruits or vegetables.

Instead, the focus is on prebiotic fiber, specifically sourced from Jerusalem artichoke inulin.

It also gives Gist this almost silky texture.

Its not fibrous at all, the way a lot of prebiotic or fiber drinks are.

To her point, none of these canned drinks taste grainy; they just taste refreshing.

Gists drinks are formulated similarly.

Okay, so the ingredients lists look pretty good.

But winning the approval of a registered dietitian is a whole other matter.
